Sixth Form Handbook 2026/2027
The Kirkham Grammar School Sixth Form Handbook provides new and returning pupils with all the essential information they need to make a confident and successful start to Sixth Form. It outlines the teaching and learning support available, explains the structure of the school day, and details the equipment and resources pupils will need. The handbook also introduces the careers advice and guidance on offer, and includes key contact details for staff who can provide further support throughout their time in the Sixth Form.
Curriculum
In Sixth Form, the majority of pupils study three subjects, in addition to an activity afternoon, the opportunity to become NCOs in the CCF and a programme of Enrichment courses. Pupils are advised to choose subjects in which they have obtained a Grade 6 or above at GCSE. BTEC programmes are also available in Business, Science and Sport, and all departments offer additional preparation for Oxbridge candidates
