Image of KGS 1st XV beat Queen Ethelburga's College

Kirkham Grammar School 1st XV played their first game since half term making the trip to York to play Queen Ethelburga's College. Despite scoring very early on through a Joe Corkish try, Kirkham struggled to deal with a spirited performance from the opposition. The normal flow of the team was thrown off track despite tries from Charlie Partington and Cameron Wilkinson maintaining the pressure on the Ethelburga's side. It was only in the last quarter of the game that finally KGS started to ease away with a Cole Potts try starting the improvement. Two excellent tries by Adam Spence and Oliver Leatherbarrow allowed Kirkham to come out 36-20 winners. Hopefully KGS will learn from this experience as they travel to Harrow School in London for a match later in the week.
