Image of Pupils inspired by Sir Henry Tonks

Second Year pupils have been creating Sir Henry Tonks inspired portraits of disfigurement. Sir Henry Tonks created portraits of First World War soldiers, however did not name the disfigured soldiers he portrayed in pastels in 1916-17. His drawings were made as medical records, but endure as Britain's greatest art of the war. It was as a result of these injuries that plastic surgery first came about!
