Kirkham Grammar School enjoyed success in the U15 Division 1 match of the LTA Schools Cup.
The singles matches took place first with U13 player Freya Peet taking on the Stonyhurst College number 1 seed. It was a hard fought battle with Freya pushing her opponent to the limit but unfortunately losing out 4-6. Tilly Loggenberg was KGS’ 2nd seed and certainly didn’t disappoint with a 6-0 victory. Hannah Culshaw followed suit with another 6-0 victory whilst Lucy Wildish saw off her opponent with a 6-4 victory.
The singles scores put KGS in a very positive position as they approached their doubles matches.
Freya and Tilly were up first with an outstanding performance resulting in a 6-3 victory followed by Hannah and Lucy who also were victorious at 6-2.
Some outstanding tennis on display taking KGS into the next round of the competition.
