Kirkham Grammar School Community Trust - Christmas Charity Events

Once again, in the lead up to the Christmas holidays, we would like to turn our attention to helping others in both our local community and also by raising money for an international charity for children.

The charities we will be supporting this Christmas are:

STREET LIFE - https://wearestreetlife.org/ - a youth work charity who assist vulnerable young people in the Blackpool area.

FYLDE FOODBANK (KIRKHAM) - https://fylde.foodbank.org.uk/ - a local charity helping people & families who are in crisis.

MISSION CHRISTMAS - https://cashforkids.org.uk/mission - a charity helping the children that need it most.

SAVE THE CHILDREN - https://www.savethechildren.org.uk/ a charity that operates in 117 countries around the world, providing unique care and attention to children based on their specific needs.

Our plans include:

Collecting food & items to donate

Collecting new toys for families who can’t afford them

Wearing Christmas jumpers on Wednesday 15 December, whilst enjoying Christmas dinner too!

How can you help?

Street Life & Fylde Food Bank:

We have collection boxes in our KGS library and would be grateful if pupils could bring into school any of the following items:

fluffy socks, Maltesers, tinned soup, tea or coffee, retail vouchers, matchmakers, dried pasta, sugar, make up/hair products, lip balm, rice, biscuits, earphones, gloves, jars of pasta sauce, snacks, men’s gift sets, After Eights, tinned beans, toiletries/body spray, perfume, Chocolate Oranges, tinned meat, tinned fruit, aftershave, nail polish, tinned vegetables, breakfast cereals

Mission Christmas:

If you can, please buy an extra gift for 'Mission Christmas' while out shopping. All gifts should be new and unwrapped, and can be dropped off by pupils at our school library. Pupils can also enter our Christmas Wreath competition being run by Mrs Halsall. £2 per entry and proceeds will go towards buying further gifts for Mission Christmas. Pupils can enter individually or as a form. The wreaths will be displayed on classroom doors on Wednesday 15 December in time for the judging to take place (further instructions have been given to the pupils).

Save the Children:

Come to school on Wednesday 15 December wearing a Christmas jumper and make a donation on our JustGiving page or make a minimum of a £2 donation on the day at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kirkham-grammar-christmas-jumper-day

Many thanks for your support - it is most appreciated!
