Image of Brooke 'Hot Wheels' over to Halifax for BYMT production

This weekend, following auditions during February half term, Kirkham Grammar School Third Year pupil, Brooke, will take to the stage at the Square Chapel Arts Centre in Halifax to perform in the British Youth Music Theatre (BYMT) musical production ‘Hot Wheels’.

This follows 2 weeks of intense, 12-hour day rehearsals with only short breaks and 2 hours off for lunch/dinner.

At just 14 years of age, Brooke, who has featured in a number of productions at Kirkham Grammar School including being cast as Mary Poppins, is the youngest performer in the Hot Wheels production which features girls, mainly older, up to 21 years of age, from all over the UK as well as Ireland, Germany, and Hong Kong. Brooke plays the part of Ruth (aka wild child), the youngest of the Charlie’s Angels Roller Derby Team. It is a physical, rough and tumble production with sassy outfits and a fearless cast, something Brooke’s mum commented is “just up her street!”

BYMT work across the UK and Ireland with West End professionals to offer unique opportunities and training. They specialise in creating brand new music theatre and following this, Brooke will have gained a Trinity College London Grade 8 in Music Theatre. A fantastic achievement…well done, Brooke and good luck to all the cast in this weekend’s performances.
