Kirkham Grammar Pre-School provides a wide range of opportunities, challenges and experiences for your child to grow and develop, with a range of exceptional resources and facilities in a newly designed purpose-built setting. Our Pre-School opens at 7.30 am and remains open until 6.00 pm.

The setting was thoughtfully designed to meet the needs and requirements of children from rising 3 to 4 years old. The Pre-School offers a wide range of exciting activities and resources, which promote each child’s learning across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The setting is a welcoming ‘home-from-home’ where children feel relaxed and happy, while being guided and nurtured by our dedicated Pre-School team.

As always at Kirkham Grammar School, our fundamental aim is to offer the best possible environment in which children can flourish and naturally love learning forever.

Our school is not just about the wonderful facilities, it is the atmosphere and ethos that distinguishes our truly outstanding Pre-School.

Our highly experienced staff recognise that self-esteem and self-confidence are an essential foundation for nurturing success and our children can grow and develop in a caring and loving atmosphere.

Children can enter our Pre-School anytime from the start of the academic term of their 3rd birthday. We ensure that every child feels happy and secure and our belief of meeting individual needs in a small class is highly evident in our Pre-School.

Within the curriculum, we aim to stimulate children's imaginations and careful individual planning equips the children with the skills necessary for their future education. We believe that play is a crucial part of a child’s development and it is through play that a child can practice, consolidate and extend their learning and experiences. We use 'The Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage' as a guide to our planning and through one to one and small group attention, we aim to stimulate and challenge and also instill and consolidate vital basic life skills. Each child’s progress is carefully monitored and parents are kept fully informed and involved through regular parents’ evenings, reports and informal daily meetings at the beginning and end of each session.
