The Kirkham Grammar School Drama Department is thrilled to have showcased their 2023 school production, 'The Wizard of Oz', in the Summerlee Hall over the past two days. Our exceptionally talented cast captivated a diverse audience, including parents, family, friends, staff, governors, and the broader school community, as they embarked on the enchanting journey down the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City.

On Friday morning, we hosted seven primary schools for a special 'matinee' performance. The enthusiastic participation of the pupils and staff, especially during the Wicked Witch of the East's stage appearance, was truly delightful. A big thank you to all our visiting schools; we hope you enjoyed both the production and your visit to KGS!

Managing a cast and crew of nearly 100 pupils was an extraordinary accomplishment, and the overwhelmingly positive reactions from the audiences across all performances reflect the unwavering commitment, hard work, and dedication of everyone involved.

A heartfelt thank you extends to all the staff who contributed to the production, with a special mention for Old Kirkhamian, George Critchley, for his invaluable contributions to set design, costumes, and advice provided to all.

Thank you also to our very generous programme sponsors:

NW1 Theatre School

ADCAS Financial Management Limited

Porsche Centre Preston

PMA Productions Limited

Congratulations to everyone involved in the production!
