Flt Lt Russell and Flt Lt Marsh recently led 13 cadets to Inskip Cadet Centre for the inaugural participation of the school's RAF section in the Regional Air Squadron Trophy (RAST). The cadets dedicated time to enhance their drill skills, even sacrificing breaks and lunchtimes. Additionally, they devoted the Saturday prior to the event to meticulous uniform preparation. The team faced diverse challenges – individual, small team, and squad-based – spanning Air Rifle, First Aid, Aircraft Recognition, Command Task, RAF General Knowledge, and Drill/Uniform. Achieving tenth place out of twelve on their first attempt is a commendable feat.
Next, they will prepare for Wing Training Day in April 2024, competing against ATC squadrons from Lancashire and Cumbria. These experiences offer invaluable learning opportunities!
