Unfortunately it was our opponents that opened the score line after a great initial save from Ainsworth.

U13A Girls Hockey VS AKS
08.03.25
The U13A girls put on a fantastic performance, coming away with a well-earned 5-1 victory. From the very first whistle, they played with confidence, passing the ball well and working together as a team. Their link-up play was brilliant, leading to some great goals and keeping them in control for most of the match. The girls showed real determination and positivity throughout, even when the opposition managed to get a goal back. They didn’t let it affect them and kept playing their own game, moving the ball quickly and supporting each other all over the pitch. As they started to tire, they briefly tried to run with the ball more, but they quickly realised that passing and teamwork was the key. Once they got back to their usual style of play, they finished the game strongly and comfortably saw out the win. A great all-round performance with lots of positives to take forward—well done, girls!

U14 Hockey vs AKS

On Saturday, 8th March, Kirkham made the short trip to AKS, eager to build on their recent victory against Cheadle. From the first whistle, Kirkham took control of the game, dominating possession and piling on the pressure. Their early dominance paid off when Guthrie produced an excellent piece of individual skill, driving into the D before setting up Mackenzie, who coolly slotted the ball into the back of the net to give Kirkham a well-deserved 1-0 lead. The second half saw Kirkham continue their attacking intensity, with the defensive unit standing strong to keep AKS at bay. Their resilience at the back allowed the team to push forward confidently, and a well-worked move led to a composed finish from Guthrie, doubling Kirkham’s advantage. Kirkham’s relentless attacking play continued, with Guthrie adding another goal to her tally before Maclean-Bristol sealed the victory with a fantastic strike, making it 4-0 at the final whistle. It was a superb team performance, with every player contributing to a dominant display. Well done, girls!
